Constructed of Sahara Cloth, a tightly woven cotton poplin fabric with the prewashed feel and heft of a top-of-the-line English rain jacket, these field coats are woven in England using the first of the season's cotton-which is always the best quality. The cloth receives a dry-wax finish that makes it as impermeable as a raincoat, never needs refinishing, and is noticeable only when water beads off the jacket in a downpour.
