Greenbrier River West Fork, West Virginia Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
Use weighted Nymphs, just off the bottom, anytime of the day. In fast or deep water use weighted Woolly Buggers for the best results. Watch for edge ice when getting into the water. The grasshoppers are out in full force, so start using hoppers and stimulators.

Techniques & Tips

We are still streamer and nymph fishing and they are working well. 9'6X and 9'5X leaders have been the best this week. With deep pockets, best fishing is deep in the fast water. Using a longer leader helps you get down deeper in the fast water and slow water with deep pockets. Weighted line or leaders are your best bet to get deep.

7-Day Forecast

Spring stocking is complete but there are still plenty of fish in the stream. Water levels are back to normal now and the stream is clear. Temps in the mid 70s. The end of the week is forecasted to have light showers but be clear for the weekend. Water temps are in mid 50s, currently but will go up as the temps stay higher.
