Rivanna River Description

The Rivanna is formed by the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Rivanna. After they converge the Rivanna runs for about 40 miles and empties into the James at Columbia, Va.

Techniques & Tips

The longer days have the smallmouth moving about preparing for the spawn. The fish are most active late morning into early afternoon. Fish areas that are near the deeper holes that have shelves which the fish will move up on as the water temperatures rise.

7-Day Forecast

Well the river is still off color and rising again. The predictions show it getting back to 9 feet or higher by mid week. Make sure to check local gauges before heading out.
