The Right Size Rug Makes All the Difference...
If you're unfamiliar with sizing conventions for area rugs, then picking the right size home area rug for a room in your home can be confusing. The following guidelines will make it easier for you to pick the perfect size rug for your living room, dining room, bathroom, or smaller entry way.

Living Rooms |

An area rug should be 3 to 4 feet larger in length and width to the dining room table to prevent your guest's chairs from falling off the edge of the rug. In most cases, an 8' x 11' is the minimum size required.
|

Depending on the size of the room and the desired look, a 5' x 8' or 8' x 11' is usually perfect for living rooms.

If you want the rug to be more visible in all parts of the room with a border of hard surface flooring beneath, consider a 10' x 13'.
|

These usually require scatter-size rugs, 2' x 3' or even up to 4' x 6'. In many cases, these areas are a great place to showcase a special shape, such as a round rug.
