Capt. Tom Hughes is a full time guide on the Chesapeake Bay. When you book a trip you and your guest will use the 'Best of the Best' ORVIS fly-fishing equipment.

Capt. Hughes starts booking trips in late February, when the largest striped bass are in the Bay proper. These fish are scattered, and using downriggers with 9 & 10 weight, ORVIS rods can be productive. Once the fish take the fly, the motor is turned off, allowing you the excitement of landing a large striper 'on the fly'.

From April to May the 3rd, it's time to fish on the world famous Susquehanna Flats. You'll be casting top water and sinking flies. Excitement is beyond words when a large striper comes up to take your offering.

During the Regular Season, mid-May to December, casting flies can become a very productive way to fish when fishing the Upper or Middle Chesapeake Bay.

It's back to chasing large striped bass, from mid-December through January, at the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (CBBT). This location offers quality and quantity of hard fighting striped bass.
