Does Orvis repair damaged merchandise?
Orvis offers repair service to specific items. Please refer to "How do I submit an item for repair or replacement?" below for the full list of available repair services.
How do I submit an item for repair or replacement?
For Rods: The process for submitting a rod for repair is explained in our rod repair section—simply follow the instructions in the rod repair section. If your rod comes with a 25-year guarantee, your rod will be repaired or replaced for a nominal $60 handling fee. (If your rod is a Zero Gravity, T3, TLS, Superfine, Clearwater, Trident Spin, or Custom rod, then it comes with the 25-year guarantee.) The reason for the rod needing a repair doesn't affect the 25-year guarantee: step on it, close the door on it, run over it with the car—it doesn't matter; we'll fix it. If we can't repair it, we'll choose a current rod of at least equal value to replace it. We also have convenient forms you can use to request a repair to your graphite rod or to request a repair to your your bamboo rod.
If your rod comes with the Orvis lifetime warranty: The Orvis lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship does not cover accidental breakage or breakage from abuse. Return your rod to Orvis for evaluation. You will be contacted with an estimated repair cost of the rod (if it is repairable), but breakage is not covered by warranty. Models include: Superfine (prior to 01/01/88), Clearwater (prior to 01/01/99), bamboo, Green Mountain, Frequent Flyer, and Streamline.
For Reels: We warranty our reels against defects in materials and workmanship. The Orvis lifetime warranty does not cover accidental breakage, breakage from abuse, or excessive wear and tear. Send your reel to Orvis for evaluation. You will be charged a $30 fee for reel service, which includes cleaning, lubrication, and return shipping. For reels repaired for defects in material or workmanship, you will not be charged.
Orvis provides a reel overhaul service for maintaining or repairing your reel. You'll have your completely overhauled reel within two weeks. Questions? Call 800-548-9548 to speak with a technical advisor, or use the convenient reel repair request form.
For Waders: While we go to great lengths to ensure every Orvis wader is built to our high quality, waders will eventually wear out and fail, much like the tires on your car.
If you are not satisfied with your waders at time of purchase or if they fail for any reason within the first 60 days, we will replace them or refund your money, no questions asked. Beyond that, waders that fail due to manufacturing issues or defects will be repaired, replaced, or refunded, at Orvis' discretion, free of charge.
Damage or failure from normal use, wear and tear, or accidents is not covered under our warranty. There are several options and resources available to help get you back on the water. Each wader comes with a repair kit containing all the necessary items to perform basic repairs, or, for a $40 charge, we will be happy to try to repair any waders that have leaks due to excessive wear or hardships they were not meant to endure. In the event waders cannot be repaired, you will be contacted for resolution. To request a repair to your waders, use the convenient wader repair request form.
For Luggage: We warranty our luggage against manufacturing and materials defects. Luggage in need of repair should be sent to our Gokey facility for evaluation. If repairs needed are due to excessive wear, you will be contacted with an estimate. If the luggage is not repairable, we will contact you for resolution. This warranty does not cover airline damage—if luggage is damaged by an airline, please file claim with your air carrier to obtain compensation.
Orvis luggage is extremely durable and can withstand the rigors of travel with ease. However, if your luggage is ever damaged, our Gokey facility is able to handle most types of repairs. Learn more about sending your luggage for repair or use the convenient luggage repair request form.
For Gokey Shoes and Boots: Gokey shoes are hand-made of heavy, remarkably durable bullhide and are built to outlast any other boots you have owned. We warranty our Gokey brand shoes and boots against manufacturing or materials defects. However, if your Gokey shoes or boots need repair, then use our convenient form to request a repair.
If repairs needed are due to wear, you will be contacted with an estimate. If shoes are not repairable, you will be contacted for resolution.
Orvis clothing is guaranteed for the lifetime of the original owner. If items are unworn and unwashed and proof of payment is provided, then a full refund will be issued in the form of the original method of payment. If proof of payment isn’t available, a refund will be issued in the form of an Orvis Gift Card for the lowest price within 90 days at the location where the original purchase was made.
My dog has chewed through a dog nest. Replaceable?
Orvis is happy to replace a ToughChew nest in the event a dog does manage to chew through the nest. However, if the replacement is chewed or if the original nest is chewed in a very short amount of time, Orvis may suggest that the product is not suitable for your dog and will offer a refund of the purchase price. Contact Customer Service by live chat, email, or phone at 888-235-9763 and let them know if the entire bed needs replacing or just the cover of the bed. You'll need to provide Customer Service with the order's billing and shipping address for your original dog bed order as well as the address where you want the replacement shipped.
Please note: Only ToughChew nests come with a chew warranty and will be replaced free of charge. Other dog beds are replaced at customer's expense. If you suspect your dog might be a chewer, then be sure to order a ToughChew dog nest.

Issues with prescription eyewear
Return the sunglasses to Orvis using our standard return process. If you purchased HVO sunglasses, Orvis can repair them in most cases. If you purchased a different brand, then Orvis will replace them or issue you a refund, depending on your preference.
