Lengthen and lighten your leaders when you get after the fish midging or sipping blue wings in the afternoon. A para blue wing with a griffith's gnat trailer is a good idea. Accurate casts and drag-free drifts are important.

Nymphing in the morning will produce some action in likely spots but with Winter lurking and daily air temps dropping, the window of opportunity is squeezing tighter and tighter. Midges and blue wings on warmer afternoons will have some pods of fish up sipping for an hour or two but don't expect to be fishing dry flies for 3 or 4 hours at this point. We are certainly moving into winter mode!
