In the course of putting together this week’s Friday Film Festival, I ran across several great videos with conservation themes, so I thought I’d do a mini Conservation Film festival over on this blog. I hope you enjoy the videos.

Help Save the Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout from Yellowstone Park Foundation on Vimeo.

Yellowstone Lake—nursery, sanctuary and stronghold of Yellowstone cutthroat trout for more than 10,000 years—is under attack from an invasive, non-native predator: lake trout. More than 40 species depend on Yellowstone cutthroat trout. Help eliminate these non-native, predatory lake trout and keep Yellowstone’s ecosystem intact. Learn more at ypf.org/trout.

Artist James Prosek not only captures the wild beauty of 35 Atlantic ocean species, he paints a compelling case for protecting them..

Condit-Dam Removal Episode 1 from NarrativeLab on Vimeo.

We’ve posted some of this footage before, but this week NarrativeLab released their complete video on Condit Dam in two parts. What is great about this project is that it worked for both the electric company that owned the dam and for fish conservation. Sure, this video was produced for the power company, so there is an obvious bias, but the people working on removing the dam seem to take pride in how well the river is doing, too.
