Video: Police Officers Receive Training to Reduce Dog Shootings

Earlier this month, we posted about a proposed Colorado bill that would require police officers to take annual classes on canine behavior. The goal was to reduce the number of dog shootings by police in the state. A report from the denverchannel.com today focuses on training for officers in the town of Arvada. This is a great idea, and anything that increases understanding and reduces fear will surely make it less likely that someone’s pet will be killed by the police. I hope there’s a lot more of this going on across the country.
