Hero Dog Leads Owner to Fallen Hiker

Walking up a popular mountain in Riverside, California, on Monday, Ramon Llamas noticed that his dog, Mole, seemed agitated and was trying to get Llamas to follow him. Mole led the man to a space between two rocks, where he discovered a trapped hiker who may have been there for days. Remarkably, hundreds of people must have walked by the spot without noticing the fallen man. He was severely dehydrated and confused, but otherwise uninjured. But who knows how long he would have been trapped had it not been for Mole’s nose, and his insistence on directing Llamas to the hiker? Yet another tragedy averted because of dog’s devotion to man and desire to help.
