The House of Representatives recently passed health-care legislation that included the Veterans Dog Training Therapy Act, introduced by Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY), and sent the legislation to the US Senate. It’s the first piece of legislation introduced by Congressman Grimm, a veteran of the first Gulf War, and it would establish a pilot program in Veterans Administration medical centers for educating veterans with mental health conditions in the art and science of assistance dog training and handling.
