When Their Dog Goes Missing, His Owners Discover His Role as a Comfort Dog For Others

Written by: Phil Monahan

Brad Beal knew that his beloved dog, Boh, would hang out in the cemetery next to their home in Lincolnton, North Carolina, but he never gave too much thought about what the dog actually did. It was only after Boh went missing—picked up by a strange woman dressed in scrubs, according to witnesses—thyat they learned how much he had helped mourners over the years.

“A man said ‘You won’t believe what your dog done for me. He’s helped me grieve through this process.’ And we’re finding all this out on Facebook,” marveled Beal.

Comments on photos and shared links called the dog “God’s shepherd watching over loved ones gone, but not forgotten.”

Now the search is on to find Boh, and the community is joining in to help.
