Video: Man Says Dog Saved His Life After Seizure

We post a lot about the great and often heroic acts of service dogs, but it’s always wonderful to find a specific, personal story to drive the point home. Tim Mullen, of Ventura, California, has suffered from epilepsy since childhood, and his seizures are often intense and could be fatal. He knew that a seizure-alert dog would help him, but he couldn’t afford the $20,000 price tag. Luckily, thousands of strangers pitched in to help, and Mullen gained a friend and a medical aide: Garth, a three-year-old Golden retriever.

On Monday night, Garth’s training kicked into action, and he may have saved Mullen’s life.
