Welcome to a new edition of the Orvis News Friday Fly-Fishing Film Festival, in which we scour the Web for the best fly-fishing videos available. We have a great selection this week, fourteen more videos that will take you to amazing angling destinations.
For best results, watch all videos at full-screen and in high definition. Remember, we surf so you don’t have to. But if you do stumble upon something great that you think is worthy of inclusion in a future F5, please post it in the comments below, and we’ll take a look. And don’t forget to check in regularly at The Tug, the Orvis online video theater. See you next week with a fresh set of films!
This video has a cool way of switching from above the water to underwater, and there are plenty of other very cool effects. The end result is a video that looks like no other we’ve featured here. Dig it.
A new video from Joey Mara and Waist Deep media focuses on a recent weekend at favorite trout stream in the shadow of Mt. Ranier and Mt. Adams.
Here’s a cool trailer for an upcoming film about fly fishing around Rockport, Texas, featuring many cool overhead shots.
Here’s a folksy little piece from the Hiwassee River in East Tennessee. Does everyone have a quadcopter now?
I wanna catch a golden dorado very badly, but until I get the chance, videos like this will have to do.
The video quality here is not fantastic, but you’ll be amazed by the brown trout that come out of this drainage ditch in New Zealand, where the season is newly open.
Here’s some great stuff from the high mountains of Colorado, featuring beautiful scenery and some great trout.
My friend Matt Caldararo (a former Orvis rod designer) lands a pretty stunning rainbow from a river in Slovenia.
We don’t get a lot of shad videos here on the F5, so I always enjoy when a good one shows up.
Oh, Iceland. If this is just one season of fishing. . .
There are no actual fish here, just a series of super-cool quadcopter shots of a couple of guys on the river. Cool stuff, though.
There is some appalling fish handling in this video, but I do like to encourage the young folk. Boys, please continue what you’re doing, but take better care of the fish.
Yes, it’s a commercial. It’s still gorgeous.
Some seatrout action from Norway, featuring just ridiculous scenery.
We’ve all been there. But not all of us put the moment on the Internets. Bravo.
You like grayling? You’re gonna love this.
Finally, here’s a longish video (24 minutes) about fly-fishing for giant trevally on Christmas Island. The man does love to talk to his fish, though. Remember: pump and wind!
