Here’s some killer video from Argentina-based AFVideos, which traveled to Cuba to sample the tarpon action, as well as heading off-shore to cast for other species. Of the tarpon, they write,
In the Caribbean Sea, there is a fish that frustrates fishermen that seek it. An ancestral fish that reaches colossal sizes and, when feeling trapped, flies through the air. It is the king of the warm waters, a colossus with an armored mouth that makes the sharper and most modern hooks useless.
It looks like the species lived up to its reputation.
