As if anyone needed more proof that tons of awesome women work at Orvis, check out this video from a photoshoot today on the Battenkill in West Arlington, Vermont. With the temperature hovering around 40 degrees and a 15-mile-an-hour wind that cut right through you, six of the women who had served as fit models for the new Silver Sonic Convertible-Top Wader braved the frigid river so we could get some photos for an upcoming article. As you can see, they had a great time with it.
Female fly fishers have always been frustrated by waders that simply didn’t fit them, and too many companies have used a “pink it and shrink it” strategy for creating women’s products from existing men’s versions. But with the introduction of the new Silver Sonic Convertible Top Wader, which will be available in February 2013, Orvis product designers have gone back to the drawing board to create a new sizing system that offers better fit and comfort for women of all shapes and body types.
