This reel was a gift along with the Recon rod and it really has a pleasant drag that is adjustable as well as it just looks awesome. I don't see the need to buy a more expensive trout reel than this. I am pleased with its performance after owning the reel for 3 months

Great reel for very reasonable price (size III)
Bought this Access III Gold on Orvis sale. I really liked the Access II so I had to buy this in III. Simple, elegant design and I really like the sound it makes. I wish Orvis continued to make the spare spools in the Gold colour.

Superb little reel
This is the second one of these reels I've purchased, both on sale so good savings too. I've got the size I reels as I do mostly very small stream fishing, but they are a very capable reel - I've had some really good size trout and the reels handle them with ease. (ok, the trout in the picture isn't a big one!)
