Awesome reel at a bargain price!
I can afford any reel on the market - I always buy this one because it's a great reel, regardless of price. I now have 5 of them. One simply can't go wrong with this quality reel.

I have two of this reels and spare spool, cheaper and great performance, I suggest to Orvis to offer a spare spools again.

Priced right!
I own both rods and reels by Orvis. I recently ordered a 4wt Cleawater Lg Arbor reel. My 10 yr old son has shown some interest so I felt like this would be an exceptional reel for starters. After using, it is far superior than a starter reel . Considering ordering another or two of them for myself.

Best Value for the Money
This is my Second Clearwater reel. I looked at other brands and concluded that I was still better value. I purchased the Clearwater reel to replace an older reel that was a smaller diameter with inferior mechanics and was annoying to keep clean.

Does everything you need it to.
I got this reel in an 8 wt for bass and carp , and the occasional surf fishing excursion. It's a great reel, and i've landed a few fish on it in the time I've had it (6 months). the drag system works well , and I have no complaints In that department. My main gripe is that the black coating dings and scratches easily, especially if you tend to do some bush-wacking and scrambling over boulders when you go out. Also I would LOVE to see spare spools available , and it really bums me out and turns me off as a customer that I can't get them. For what I use this reel for , extra spools would be excellent ( not to mention it would encourage me to buy More Orvis lines ).

Bought again
I bought this reel as part of a combo package, rod, reel and line, so got it at a super price. This is my second Clearwater reel as I have my first one mounted on my small rod. Although Clearwater's are level entry reels, the quality is outstanding. Both of these reels work great for me at my level of fly fishing and lack of funds. However, I like these reels so much that I'm not sure if I would even up grade of I had the chance.
