Elk River's guides provide services in all of the coldwater fisheries in eastern West Virginia. Streams range from small high-country water to mid- to large-sized rivers. Most of our trips are walk and wade, but we do offer float trips on larger water in the mid- to late-summer months.
Elk River fishes year-round and can accommodate your needs depending on weather conditions. Our fishing area provides four complete seasons, much like most of the mid-Atlantic region.
Our full-day trips are 7-8 hours in length. They include a guide, packed lunch, and specialty flies for the stream or river. The trips begin at Elk River Inn and Restaurant located in Slatyfork, West Virginia. Guided day trips are recommended for 1-2 clients.
Brown, rainbow, and wild brook trout year round.
Fly-fishing gear unless they need to rent. Anglers could also bring sunscreen and clothing depending on the season. We rent waders, rods, reels, and wading footwear.
