Got this rod in June of 2015. Loved the feel of the rod for the first few outings.
Then the handle came apart. Sent rod back to Orvis for repair.
Rod was repaired quickly and sent back.
At this point confidence is still high that I have purchased on of the best fly rods available.
Because of warm weather of late summer I then switched to musky fishing and was not using rod.
It is now February of 2016 and back to trout fishing in central Pa.
Rod broke at first and second sections.
Now sending back again.
I just received my 3rd H2. 9' 5WT MID flex.
Also have had conversation with 2 local shops that have informed me they are experiencing a high number of failures with the H2.
Still deciding if I should sell this new rod or give it another try.

Exceptional!
I always believed equipment wouldn't make a better angler. This rod proves that false. I upgraded from a clearwater rod and can't believe how much better this rod feels/casts. The fit and finish is superb. Loads very nicely yet retains excellent strength and power, very sensitive too. A joy to cast all day. I believe I'm in love!

Beautiful Rod
I have an early CFO III reel which needed a rod to go with it and the Helios 2 seemed like a good choice. I purchased a 5 weight mid flex . Wow, what a great rod it is! It is so light I can go all day with it and can out cast my thirty year old Orvis 7 weight which has always been my go to rod until now. Beautiful craftsmanship and the envy of my fishing partner.

Great Rod
Can't say enough about my Helios 2 9' 5Wt. Super Light, and great action, makes an average caster great, and an experienced one sublime. Great looks, and when paired with the Mirage II and Hydros 3D line...becomes an incredible trout sniper.
Can't wait to get a 10' 3Wt :)

My best flyrod ever
I got this rod latge in the season, but managed to test it on streams in the Roros distrrict fishing for greyling. The rod is precise, easy to cast, light in the hand, and it casts very long and at the same time very delicate presentations of my flies. I am very satisfied with the purchase, and will recomend the rod to my flyfishing friends.

I started fly fishing three years ago, started with an Orvis Clearwater nice rod and as a beginner it taught me how to cast. As my skill level improved like all of us I wanted a better rod.I went to my Orvis store and thought it was time for an Access. This rod had good reviews and cast well. As I was finished with my lawn casting I said while I am here can I cast the new Helios 2. I was hoping it was not much better to save the money.
I was shocked at what an upgrade it was over the Access. The wind was blowing around 15 to 20 MPH so I tried both rods into the wind no contest. The Helios 2 is a special rod. The Helios 2 is very smooth yet you can fell the power for distance or like today into the wind.This rod is worth testing and if you can swing the dollars an amazing rod.
