The Orvis Pivot was designed to improve traction, comfort, and durability. Exceptionally durable and lightweight, the reel combined with aircraft grade stainless steel laces provides smooth, even closure for a secure, comfortable, and truly customized fit. Just turn the dial, take a few steps and make the final adjustment. To remove the boot, simply pull the dial out until it clicks and then pull the tongue out and away. Screw in studs are optional if an added level of traction is desired. Imported.

Fast, Simple, Effective Closing
I've been fly fishing for nearly 50 years, very much a traditionalist, so I go slowly into the "newfangled" things. Laces on boots have always worked fine....
I needed new boots and decided to try a pair of the BOA when my old boots had a 'blowout' in the middle of last season. I've worn the new pair on about twenty day trips. They fit comfortably and provide good support and normal felt traction. I am most impressed with the BOA closing system. FAST, EASY, EFFECTIVE. They are easy to get on, easy to get off, they tighten evenly, no more messing with wet sandy laces, etc etc

a gift to my daughter
The boots are a Christmas gift to my daughter. Since I won't be wearing them, my comments are from a visual look. The boots looks "active", by that I mean the design and look of the boot has all of the functional needs of a good wading boot. It looks like it wants to "fish." I love the lacing system. Easy on and easy off, with no more shoe string problems.

These boots have excellent grip on the slippy streams of Pa. Boa closure system is easy on and off. It also allows for quick adjustment while wading. very good ankle support and appear sturdy.

comfortable but.....
These are extremely comfortable boots and the BOA system is easy and convenient. I have 2 issues with these overall. Where im located the felt works great in the water however it is ruff terrain out of the water and the felt doesn't work well on wet leaves and mud. It is not offered with the rubber soles so I had to add the cleats which I was told were compatible however they do not hold well. In addition I took them on a trip to Missouri and was not able to use them at all because they do not allow the use of felt bottom boots there. More options would be nice

Buy these boots
I purchased these boots on the recommendation of my son, an avid angler. I've now worn them three days in a row and the fit like slippers. No break-in required. I'd highly recommend them.

Disappointing
I bought these on the strength of the previous reviews...Whilst I have no complaints with the BOA system, I returned these boots as they are generally of poor quality and design.
Vastly overpriced, boxy with no arch supports or useful padding. (padding around the ankle is not compatible with waders with gravel guards as they are too high). I would urge Orvis to redesign and manufacture from a better substrate than, what appears to be, the faux leather composite they've used here.
There are better boot options in the Orvis range.

Boot wader revelation.
Alternative to make Wader boots much easier to put on and take off. Saves time. Well built and comfortable. Felt is sewn to boot instead of glued. Should make felt more durable. Pleased with performance.
