Finally found the right one -

I have been looking forever for a Goatsuede sport coat that I liked, and at the right price. This coat fulfills both requirements. It is very comfortable and looks great with any dress code, casual or dressy.
Not what I hoped for. -

I had recently purchased another Orvis blazer in 46R, one that really fits and looks great. Based on that positive experience I was anxious to try my hand at another Orvis offering. The online picture and reviews of the Presidential Suede Blazer suggested this was the suede blazer I have long been looking for. I purchased it and awaited anxiously for the arrival of this seemingly signature Orvis item. I was really dissappointed when the box arrived and I opened the garment bag and tried on the coat. The color (I understand this varies with suede) was much more light/honey colored than what I was hoping for. The suede itself was so thin it gave way to any and all wrinkles, had no form to it, and when I tried it on, the best word I can use to describe it is "floppy". This is not a word typically associated with sport coats or blazers made of wool or suede in my experience. The blazer draped loosely around my torso despite having broad shoulders, and from a side profile had a balloon effect. When my wife came home her dissappointment echoed my own, so this assessment is not only mine. The blazer was returned to Orvis the very next day. I really wanted to love this blazer, unfortunately it just isnt for me, and I'm left a bit confused (and envious) of the other positive reviews for this item. Did I just get the lemon sample? My other Orvis garment in 46R has an almost tailored fit. Oh well, can't win them all, my search continues.
I always have a suede blazer in the closet -

For the past 40 years I have had a suede blazer in the closet. This might be the nicest. A suede blazer is great for travel and serves as a coat and jacket. I am not very careful with mine. But I am willing to replace it after some un planned rain and snow.

Comfortable and casual, yet with enough style to wear most anywhere.
A great leather blazer -

This blazer is very attractive, comfortable, and well-made. It is also the only size 36 brown leather blazer I have been able to find, looking for several years. The sleeves are quite long for the size 36 I ordered and it immediately went to the tailor to shorten them - considerably. Kudos to Orvis for carrying mens' small sizes in clothing!
best suede blazer on the market -
Soft and supple suede. High quality tailoring including the bound buttonholes. Great color - just dark enough that every single soiled spot doesn't show.

Gorgeous. I had been looking for a jacket to replace the one stolen from me in a restaurant about 35 years ago. One would think that this style would be easy to locate. Not so!!!! Yellow Alert cancelled. RBS
Fully pleased -

The jacket arrived wrinkle free in an Orvis garment bag. I ordered it in my normal jacket size and the fit was perfect, with just enough room for a sweater underneath. The color of the jacket was faithful to the color depicted in the catalogs. The suede material is lightweight but not thin...the weight of the suede leather is just right for all day comfort, even when traveling with the airlines. The fabric and stitching are blemish free and flawless. One minor niggle, I do wish it had just a small bit of padding in the shoulders to enhance the drape of the jacket. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with it and look forward to wearing it often.
