Schroeder's Hi-Vis Hopper

These grasshopper flies are easily spotted at 100 yards away.

Details

Ed Schroeder is a great fly tier, but he has terrible eyesight. That's a good thing, because he creates some of the best high visibility grasshopper flies there are. This great grasshopper pattern is not only a good imitation, you can see it in tough water and light conditions. Color, Natural.
Sizes: 8, 10, 12, 14.

regardless the species of freshwater fish, if they are feeding on the surface and the grasshoppers are out, you will catch fish

One of the best terestrials out there. Good presentation that can be seen on those longer casts. It gets those trout out from the grassy banks and in to the net.

Just finished a day hooking 5 nice sized rainbows with 1 hopper. Great fly. Easy to spot, durable, fish like 'em. That's all I want in a fly.

I live in Australia, and for us, Christmas time means sticky heat and the chainsaw-esque raoring of cicada's. with the arrival of cicada's comes also its much smaller mutch quieter cousin, the hopper. We get allot of different hopper's around where I fish (The Kosciuszko National Park for geography freaks) including the wingless (our smallest, size12 and less) and snowy hopper and largest (up to size six). This fly kills for both. I caught my two first dry fly browns on this fly, andfor me this has consistantly outfished even the classics (Dave's Hopper ect...), There are few better flies I know, buy it, tie it, steal it, just get some in your box!
