Bend, Oregon Store Manager: Clinton Cheney Clinton comes to Orvis with over 10 years of specialty retail management experience. Born and raised in Central Oregon, he developed his love for the outdoors while hiking, hunting, and spin fishing in the nearby Ochoco Mountains. He calls himself an aspiring fly fisherman and is thrilled to work with a company where he will be able to change "aspiring" to avid. When he is not at work he loves to be outside and spend time with his wife of 8 years and their two beautiful daughters.

Fly fishing and fly tying have always been a large part of my life, and from as early as I can remember, the true merit of any place I lived was based solely on its proximity to good fishing! By the time I finished college, I had lived, traveled, and fly fished all over North America. With the ink still drying on my Poultry Science degree and a budding career in the agriculture industry, I realized my deep-seated love of fly fishing and fly tying could not be contained and seized an opportunity to consult for one of the largest premier fly tying companies in the world. Years later I joined Orvis in Richmond Virginia, and now in Bend, Oregon as the Fishing Manager, I immediately embraced the opportunity to share my passion for fly fishing and its sporting traditions with the general public. Whether it’s publicly speaking to local fishing groups or in-store instruction, I’ve taken great pride in creating one of the finest education programs in the company. Ranging from simple 1 hour casting clinics to full-day beginner and advanced schools, we have something for novice and experienced anglers alike.
Also an accomplished freelance angling illustrator, Tye is best known for his realistic illustrations of fresh and saltwater game fish. Tye has art in private collections all over the US and Canada as well as several magazine publications to his credit.
