Come meet Dan Michels and Alex Oberholtzer from the 2012 Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge of the Year, Crystal Creek Lodge, located on the banks of the magnificent Naknek River, and home to trophy rainbow trout. They will be presenting a program on Alaska and what their lodge offers in the Bristol Bay region of Alaska. If you don’t like crowds then Crystal Creek Lodge is your Alaska Adventure destination. Chris started with Orvis early in 2008 and was instrumental in the success of the Woodlands store. Chris is a life long outdoorsman possessing a special affinity and talent
for the art of fly fishing.
Houston Fly Fishing Manager: Joe Bunton
While growing up on the Texas Coast, Joe learned to fish behind his grandparent's house in the many of the canals leading to Galveston Bay. Joe has been a fly fisherman for nearly 20 years, with experience in Colorado, Wyoming, Hawaii, Mexico, and all over the Gulf Coast. Joe now fishes from a kayak, fly casting to red fish in the skinny back bays up and down the Texas coast. He has extensive knowledge of the sporting goods industry having worked for Bass Pro Shops for five years. Prior to becoming Fishing Manager Joe worked at Orvis Woodlands for 3 years as a part time associate.
In addition to fishing Joe enjoys waterfowl and big game hunting, and he loves to cook. Joe, his wife Carol, their 3 children and two yellow Labradors love traveling, camping, kayaking, and fishing wherever they can.
