Jan joined the Orvis family in February ‘08 as the fishing manager for our Myrtle Beach retail location. Jan is a sound saltwater and warm water fisherman and is very excited about this opportunity to transfer his East Coast roots to the Gulf Coast region. Jan loves the teaching, listening, and the constant educating fly fishing has to offer. Yet it is the instant camaraderie created by the distinctive country lifestyle of Orvis which fuels his passion for the sport. With regards to work, It is the "voice of the customer" that drives Jan to provide world class customer service day in and day out. When not spending time with his wife Kristina and two daughters, Madison and Vivian, you will find Jan in search of high adventure along the Gulf's, Emerald coast.

James, a native of Atlanta, began fly fishing in the north Georgia mountains for browns and rainbows. He quickly fell in love with the sport and expanded to building his own rods and tying flies. He has traveled though out the southeast in search of fish on the fly. James now calls Sandestin his home, where enjoys fishing for redfish on the flats of the panhandle.
