Orvis clothes are cut generously to accommodate an active country lifestyle. We build plenty of “wearing ease” in all our garments to ensure you will enjoy them for many years. We field-test all of them on associates, and we take into consideration how the clothing will be worn. For example, when we fit outerwear, we always size it with the appropriate layers beneath. That means you do not need to order a size up for a comfortable fit. Not sure what size to order? Just chat, e-mail, or call 888- 235-9763 our Customer Service experts. They will be happy to give you the actual garment measurements for any item we sell.

| Zambezi Twill |
Comfort and durability
We’ve subjected this rugged twill to a new vintage wash process that softens and breaks-in this substantial twill so it’s as comfortable as your favorite chinos from the very first wearing. We’ve also triple-needle stitched all the stress points for added durability, and have developed a new mock-leather trim material that’s washable and tough. Ideal for travel Over the years Zambezi Twill has proven itself a versatile fabric, ideal for use in travel clothing. A close look at this twill’s distinctive diagonal pattern reveals the reasons for its longevity. Extra horizontal or warp yarns, known as fill yarns, enhance strength, resiliency, and relative stretch while maintaining suppleness. Paired with a multi-stage enzyme prewash, the resulting twill strikes the ideal balance of durability, soft comfort, and enduring good looks. Capturing the spirit of the Zambezi River With our best-selling Zambezi line of clothing, we’ve captured the spirit of a legendary river. The Zambezi travels through the heart of Africa, coursing 1,678 miles from the corner of Zambia to the Indian Ocean; along the way, it drops 360 feet over Victoria Falls and touches the lives of millions. Rugged enough for your own global explorations Zambezi Twill is nearly identical in construction to ByrdCloth, worn by Admiral Byrd and his team in global explorations from the poles to the tropics. It was later adopted for use by the British Army in the 1940s, and was considered the gold standard in military fabrics for a generation, its tightly packed structure shielding wearers from the elements—including voracious tropical insects. From the rugged, soft-washed twill to reinforcement in wear-prone areas, Zambezi Twill clothing is built for the way you travel. Anywhere on earth. |
