Stonefly Bugger

Trigger reactions from big fish while fishing this fly that pulsates like a wooly bugger.

Details

This is an excellent fly for swinging down current. The combination of the stonefly profile and the movement of a pulsating Wooly bugger are sure to draw strikes from big trout just as the fly reaches the end of the swing and begin to move upstream. Heavy materials help get this Stonefly Bugger pattern down quickly to the feeding area. Excellent with a Streamer Stripper line. Colors Brown.
In sizes: 6, 8, 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why it was created The fly was created in 1991 for fishing Saranac River which at the time had excellent Alantic Salmon, Rainbow / Brown Trout and Small Mouth Bass fishing by M.W. & R. M. I have been reading the review for some time and I am glad other anglers have used and found the same enjoyment we did after creating it. For added enjoyment fish a size 2 or 4 at night at the head of deep pools and let it dead drift into the hole and hang on! Thight lines to all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MUST for my fly box My buddy and I each had three of these in our fly boxes on our trip to Canada. They were murder on the smallmouth bass. I lost two the first morning to rocks - then the third to a Northern Pike. My buddy was able to keep his last one out of the rocks till the next morning. While he was using it, he out-fished me about 3 to 1, no matter what i used. We were both wishing we had another dozen or so. This is about the best smallmouth fly i've ever used.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hook Up A Small Mouth Bass When I first purchased this product last year and I decided to target Small Mouth Bass, I traveled to the St. Joe River in Michigan and consistently caught Small Mouth bass. The color works well in warm water lakes. This fly pattern really works. I recommend giving this pattern a serious look. I keep it as a mainstay pattern in my fly box.
