|The Battenkill Pro Guide Vest|
"I've never used a vest as comfortable as the Orvis Pro Guide Vest. When you pack a dozen fly boxes, thousands of flies and your vest weighs 40 lbs. fully loaded, it’s critical that weight be distributed as evenly as possible. I’ve never used a vest as comfortable as the Orvis Pro Guide vest. The stretch mesh yoke conforms to my shoulders and eliminates pressure points while the roomy pockets hold everything I need."
—Marty Cecil, Elktrout Lodge
Our finest fly fishing vest, the Pro Guide features 7 interior pockets, 15 exterior front pockets, and 3 exterior back pockets to hold all your leader packets and tippet spools, fly boxes, floatant, strike indicators, extra reel spools, rain and cold weather gear, repellent, net, large maps, and lunch. Pockets alone do not make a great vest, however. The Pro Guide is also designed for comfort and durability. The specially-designed stretch mesh yoke is made to contour to any shoulder shape and suspend the vest’s weight to reduce neck strain and allow comfort for long days on the water.
The shell fabric is constructed of Supplex®, an extremely lightweight yet tough nylon that is water and sun resistant, fast drying, and, best of all, will not mildew if stored damp. Set your rod butt in the loop that hangs from the lower right of vest and strap the rod itself into the chest loop and your hands are now completely free to tie flies or provide better balance as you cross strong water. The Pro Guide Mesh Vest offers everything the Pro Guide vest offers in a construction that’s lighter and cooler for mid-summer fishing or in warmer climates. Both have heavy-duty zippers with pull tabs for easy access.
