In Alabama this fly works well on the Sipsey fished below a dropper.

You'll never go wrong with a pheasant tail - even if they're not the traditional ones. A good fly for the price.

Must Have Nymph Flies - 11/24/2013

Nymphs are must have flies that imitate sub-surface food sources that comprise the majority of a trout’s diet. These flies have been consistently productive for me on everything from stocked rainbows and browns, to wild brookies on urban and park streams throughout Virginia. Always in my fly box.

    Get them everytime - 11/28/2012

This classic fly is a great fall-back fly, when nothing else works you better put one on. Flashback is a good way to get their attention fast. Keep a half dozen with you at all times and you'll be set for a long time.

go to spring creek fly - 6/25/2012
    By: from Montana

This is our "go to" fly for the LIvingston Spring Creeks here at Hubbard's Yellowstone Lodge. We often fish a size small. Works great for PMDs, Baetis, and Sulphurs. We usually use the flashback version in 18 and 20. But the larger sizes get lot of use in Lamar Valley for the Grey Drake hatch.

    deadly - 4/27/2012

My last three trips I have only used this fly in flashback and it was deadly. Did not even consider changing fly's. After the three trips two of the flys were distroyed by the fish and had to be retired. A must have fly in # 14 and #16.
