From the vise of John Barr, one of the most lifelike larvae flies we've seen. Net builders are prevalent in most streams and actually do well in poorer quality water. These larvae tend to be stationary, build a net and catch food in the net. When they move, they simply drift downstream and find another spot. They do this by attaching a silk strand to a rock and using it to rappel to another rock. This leaves them hanging in the current where they are easy prey. Larvae flies in olive.
