Caught a huge brown on the first fly I tied with this. Makes beautiful flies as all of orvis saddle hackles do.

Perfect for the wooly buggers I tie here in bass country. Has great action to it and pulses in the water. Slays the bass!

    Exactly what I needed! - 5/19/2013

Being a fly tier for over 60 years I can speak with some sort of confidence. All fly tying materials that I've purchased from Orvis are top notch and suit the purpose for which they're intended. In fly tying a common mistake is using inferior materials to try to save a buck. Orvis supplies the best products for the money!

Reasonable for the price but not high quality in terms of firmness of barbs for tailing but sufficient for average tyers.

Nice hackle, I got the red to tie some Betty's (A well known Michigan U.P. Fly...). Looks great!
