Heirloom Quality Luggage for Life's Adventures We call it Bullhide for a reason. Orvis Bullhide Luggage is the most substantial, heirloom quality, leather luggage on the market today. We take superior grade American tanned leather and construct our luggage with the attention to detail you would find only in the finest saddle shops. Quality Construction for a Lifetime of Travels Bullhide leather is tanned with its natural characteristics intact, allowing the individual grain to give each piece its own distinctive look, not unlike a heavily figured walnut stock on a fine shotgun. This look only gets better with time and is one of those treasured possessions that age well and speak to us of shared experience. Each Bullhide piece is double stitched with contrast stitching, the hardware is all solid brass and the zippers are the highest quality YKK zippers on the market. The handles are rolled and stitched leather for long wear and comfort and all handles are double riveted with brass rivets to ensure strength and durability no matter what the load. Each piece is lined with ballistic nylon for a smooth, finished look and to better protect the bag’s contents. Shoulder straps of the same fine grade leather and solid brass hardware are included with all bags requiring straps. Easy to Care For Bullhide is easy to care for, the key simply being not to let the leather dry out. A simple treatment with leather balm or our own Gokey leather conditioner will bring out the highlights of the leather’s natural grain and keep it supple and beautiful for years to come. Over time and with normal use, unglazed Bullhide leather will take on a distinctive patina; as the leather goes through this break-in period, transfer of the dye onto light-colored surfaces is possible. Simply exercise care when wearing light-colored clothing to prevent this “crocking,” or dye transfer from occurring. Made to Last Our luggage is guaranteed against manufacturer’s defect, and if through normal wear over the years needs repair, we do this at our legendary Gokey factory in Tipton, Missouri which has been working with leather for over 150 years. You can buy less expensive luggage and replace it every few years or you can buy Bullhide and never buy luggage again. Bullhide luggage is investment quality luggage that you will find only at Orvis. Like our Bullhide snake boots, this luggage will become an heirloom to be handed down to your children with tales to tell of great adventures. |
