    World Class - 3/19/2013

From the comprehensive classroom agenda through the "hands-on" instruction, Truel Myers of the Ocean Reef Resort exemplified the "World Class" stature of the Orvis company. His attention to detail and to each individual's skill level and aptitude were noteworthy. The Orvis products Truel utilized and the "post-training" resources he provided us have further reinforced that Orvis Fly Fishing school training and "refresher" visits are a "must have" in any Fly Fishing person's arsenal! Our sincere thanks to Orvis for their commitment to quality in all aspects of their products and services......"JandV

    Fun class-great value - 1/11/2012
    By: from Virginia

I attended this 2-day school while my wife was taking an art class on a nearby key in early 2009. Peter was my personal instructor with Truell overseeing the two days. The class was well organized, comprehensive, relaxed, and paced just right. A modest concise bit of written take home instruction (salt and fresh water fly fishing) came in pamphlet form. Full high quality equipment was provided. There was plenty of outdoor Fly-casting instruction, practice, along with critique. Both instructors were not only experienced fly fishermen and guides but also excellent teachers. The Key Largo setting just added to the enjoyment of course.

    Fantastic Program - 1/30/2010

My husband & I travelled from upstate NY to attend a 2 day class at Ocean Reef during some of the coldest weather the Keys have experienced in 75 years. In spite of the cold, the wind, and the pouring rain, Truel Myers good naturedly persevered to provide an outstanding experience for both of us. While my husband had some experience with a fly rod, I was a total beginner, and I was dreading the instruction in these conditions. However, we both thoroughly enjoyed the class, and we felt we each progressed significantly from our respective experience levels. The fact that we both had fun under these adverse conditions speaks wonders for Truel's abilities as an instructor. We feel it was well worth the trip and the cost, and we're looking forward to testing our bonefishing skills in the Bahamas this winter. Thanks Truel!

Two Day Fly Fishing School - 3/4/2009
    By: from Vicksburg, Ms

My first time ever to hold a fly fishing rod was a few weeks ago when I attended the two day fly fishing school in Ocean Reef, Fl. And I am HOOKED! The instructors, Peter and Truell, were organized, very knowledged in the sport, and superb teachers. And the Orvis program was outstanding. Ocean Reef is a beautiful location that has something to offer everyone. As a beginner, there is always more to learn, but I do feel comfortable enough to head to the water. To anyone with a desire to learn fly fishing, this is the school for you. You will be HOOKED too!
