Reactor Toughcase Field Watch

Our rugged stainless steel field watch holds up to whatever you throw at it.

Wear a rugged field watch that's been engineered to withstand extreme conditions. The hefty case is forged from solid, marine-grade stainless steel. The springbars-an inherent weak point in all wristwatches-have been eliminated and replaced with threaded screwbars, resulting in a 500% increase in strength for band attachment. The protected screw-down crown maintains water resistance even in the event it isn't screwed down. Quartz-accurate movement. Mock-crocodile genuine leather band with contrast stitch detail. Case diameter 42.5mm. Water resistant to 660 feet. Imported.

As good as it looked - 7/24/2015

I was pleasantly surprised when I received the watch as I had been concerned that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. However, it's robust and chunky appearance and clear face appear ideal.

Great watch! Good weight, size, and very easy to read in the dark. Large numerals and hands. Nice wide sturdy leather band and buckle.

    Great sport watch - 5/4/2015

The Reactor Field Watch is a very good looking, comfortable to wear watch. It is light weight for its size, but not flimsey in any way.

    Watch - 5/19/2014

It is a good weight. I like the size of the dial face. For a small wrist, today watches have too large a face dial. I'm not to crazy about the alligator wrist band. Orvis should have offered various bands or a more supple one. I will eventually have to change this one. The dial face is very clear. Nice color & has included military time in smaller numbers. All in all, a nice purchase.

    Very Nice Watch - 4/28/2014
    By: from Pimmit Hills, VA

This is the Reactor "Atom-Tusk" model, very attractive and, at 42mm, just the right case size, I think, for a man's sporty watch. I have the #68891 model with the identical case and movement but with a rubberized band which isn't so great. I would much prefer the leather band as on the Tusk. However, the Tusk does not have tritium-gas cartridges allowing all-night visibility. Other models (such as mine) have this feature. But if you don't care to know that it's 3 a.m. in the dark, then the Tusk would be a good purchase. Plus, the day-date complication on this watch is a critically important feature for me, and most watches don't offer it.

    Handsome watch - 4/23/2014
    By: from Washington DC

I recently served on a panel discussion about Iran and nuclear deterrence, and was given this watch as a gift (it being especially appropriate given the modified radioactivity symbol on the watch face). It is incredibly handsome, weighty, and stately. The stitching on the band is beautiful. The case is the largest of any watch I own, but isn't burdensome -- it seems tough, like you might go from your board meeting to a deep-sea dive while leaving it on. I love this watch.
