Great School, Solid Skills, Big Fish -
I attended the fly fishing school at River Wildlife during October 4-5, never touching a fly rod before. I was met at the Montana-like lodge at River Wildlife to a warm welcome by Gordy Martin the instructor. The setting was perfect and I owe getting up to speed with learning the fundamentals and intermediate lessons of casting quickly to Gordy. By the second day, I was on the river and catching numerous King Salmon! As a bonus, Gordy stayed with us until an hour before dark ensuring we all had our catch. If you're thinking of a fly fishing school, River Wildlife in the Fall with Gordy is the best!
The Best School Ever! -
By: TroutmasterInMyDreams from Pewaukee, WI
My husband and I took the Orvis Fly Fishing School at the gorgeous River Wildlife at Kohler, Wisconsin on October 4 and 5, 2014. Our instructor, Gordon Martin, was excellent and lots of fun to be with! Gordy spent a lot of time helping us with our casting skills and teaching us various casting techniques. He was so friendly, enthusiastic, encouraging, positive and had a great sense of humor! We appreciate Gordy's patience and his willingness to share his knowledge and experiences with us. On the afternoon of Day 2, Gordy took us to the Sheboygan River to fish for salmon. We stayed on the river with him until an hour before dark fishing for salmon and reeling them in! Going to school has never been more enjoyable ! We hope to continue to learn from Gordy in the future and in fact plan on fishing for steelhead and brown trout with him in the next few weeks.
Great Class -

The class focused on hands on skills - casting and tying knots. Gordy was a great coach and my casting skills and confidence improved much over the two days. The fishing trip was a blast and the setting and amenities was first class.

2 days of pure joy....we had a blast! The class time and fishing experience couldn't have been more delightful. Our instructor, Gordy Martin, was a wealth of knowledge, patience and friendly enthusiasm. And all this was matched perfectly with the lovely setting at River Wildlife. Coming back for more!
