Sizing Information for Orvis Women's Clothing

Orvis clothes are cut generously to accommodate an active country lifestyle. We build plenty of “wearing ease” in all our garments to ensure you will enjoy them for many years. We field-test all of them on associates, and we take into consideration how the clothing will be worn. For example, when we fit outerwear, we always size it with the appropriate layers beneath. That means you do not need to order a size up for a comfortable fit.

Not sure what size to order? Just chat, e-mail, or call 888- 235-9763 our Customer Service experts. They will be happy to give you the actual garment measurements for any item we sell.

How to Measure

Women's SizingIn all instances, hold tape firm and level, but not tight.
a. Hat Sizes: Using a flexible/soft tape measure, start 1" above the ear. Follow around head staying 1" above the ear. This will give your most accurate reading. Then refer to the chart for size.
b. Bust/Chest: Wrap a tape measure evenly around the fullest part under your arms.
c. Waist: Wrap tape around your natural waistline, or where you actually wear your pants.
d. Seat/Hip: Standing with your feet together, measure around the fullest part of your hip (approx. 7-8" below the waist). Don’t forget to keep the tape level.
e. Inseam: Best taken from an existing pair of pants you like. Measure along the garment inseam from the crotch seam to the hem.
f. Glove Hand: Measure all the way around the flat part of your hand, excluding the thumb, and around the widest part at the knuckles. Use the chart below to convert this measurement in inches to your corresponding glove size.

Linenweave

Summer's most breathable blend

Linenweave: the perfect summer fabricOver the years, Orvis Linenweave has become one of the most popular summer fabrics in our women's apparel collection. The secret is a blending of old and new.

Linen's durability, matched with rayon's soft comfort

The foundation of this versatile fabric is linen, the oldest textile known to humankind. Linen's beauty, cooling properties, and durability have been prized for more than 10,000 years. Linen has two to three times the strength of cotton.

With the linen, we blended rayon, the very first man-made fiber. Rayon is made from plant cellulose and was the result of French chemist Count Hilaire de Chardonnet's attempt to make artificial silk in 1889. Rayon can be spun to have the look and texture of linen.

Orvis Linenweave: the perfect summer fabric

Our blend of linen and rayon, Orvis Linenweave, has the cool, textural qualities of linen and the soft, comfortable drape of rayon. It resists pilling, creases, and static. It's machine washable and low-maintenance. Orvis offers a complete collection of pants, dresses, jackets, and skirts in breezy Linenweave for everyday comfort, all summer long.
