1. New and Improved Wonderline Coating — Our latest generation of Wonderline coating is 20% slicker than the previous generation, resulting in the slickest fly lines on the market. Casts farther with less effort, produces higher line speeds to cut through the wind and improve accuracy, repels dirt and grime, picks up off the water easier, improves floatation, and reduces tangles. An Orvis exclusive, patented process applied at our facility in Manchester, VT.
2. Orvis Line ID — Quickly and easily identify your line, no more guessing. All of our lines will be printed with the taper, weight, and functionality.
3. Enhanced Welded Loops — New sleek and durable welded loops make leader attachment quick and easy while holding up to repeated use. Helps to transfer energy more efficiently to the leader allowing better turnover.
4. Rear Loops — Saltwater lines have an enhanced rear loop as well for attaching to backing.
5. Core — Braided multifilament core provides excellent performance over a wide range of conditions.

Bought in the winter sale at an incredibly low price, this is now my go to line for salt water fly fishing. The line also recently made a great temporary replacement for a broken guitar string (using a small length of the running line for this). Yes, I can truly say that this line really rocks.

Line Up for Fast Tip - 8/9/2013

One thing right up front: Orvis has done an excellent job packaging their fly lines. No extra boxes; just a cardboard spool with a sleeve. Nicely done! The line itself has excellent features: loops at both ends and the line ID near the tip. I used the 6wt line with my 697-4 Helios 2 on a local beach. While the line worked, I think for the tip flex it was slightly too light for me - being only 173 gr. I didn't feel I could get the line to load the rod as well as I would have liked (and yes, that's probably more of a caster issue). If I had to do it again, I might go with the 7 wt line for the heavier head.
