bought for salt -

I bought this line for my 10wt to use here in Florida during the winter. I can get down deep enough that I have caught blue's and Spanish with it. I have also used it on the dock lights where I have found the trout stay on the top of the water but the reds are down near the bottom. And I have caught quite a few redfish on it at night on underwater lights.

Very goood line to pike . Very easy cast with a big streamer With a short leader, it allows precise posed. See during the winter fishing, but hopeful.

Great line, works well. Would definitely get more.

I bought this in a ten weight to tackle pike in Ireland - however the memory and stiffness of the line makes it a poor choice. Water temp was 10 degrees C, and air temp was something similar - yet the line was still way to stiff! The line is decribed as "Designed for variety of temperature and weather conditions" - clearly iys not designed for Irish winters!
Best Large Streamer Fly Line -
By: NoFishHere from Plymouth, MN
I used this line for the first time on a trip to Manitoba to fish for giant Pike. I was using very large flies (12-18 inches long) and a Helios-2 10wt rod. This line worked great. It loaded the rod beautifully and made 60 ft casts easy all day long easy. It would sink if I let it sit still and would keep the fly on top of weeds if I kept it moving. I basically put the rest of my rods way once I started using this one. I just bought this line for two more of my streamer rods.
Passed first test -
By: medfisch from 6wt
6wt Hydros clear sink tip passed a first test, streamering for river smallmouth in high summer. Cast well and handled well with water and air temperatures in 70s-80sF. The real test will come in late fall and spring, swinging flies and streamering for Great Lakes steelhead and resident trout with temperatures in 30s-50s. If the line remains supple, it will pass.

I was quite excited at the thought of putting my new line on my brand new super fine rod and reel. The excitement soon turned to panic then sheer disappointment. Why? Well first of all I want to congratulate Orvis on the Eco packaging idea, I am all for the idea but I fear it cost me the £££'s I spent on the line. I started to load the line onto the reel when with out warning the packaging cardboard the line was wound onto popped open and resulted in the biggest birds nest ever! There was so many knots in the line that it took me an age to untangle, I have been left with 3 serious kinks in the line and had to render it unusable :( As I say I agree with Eco friendly packaging but it has to be fit for its intended purpose. Also noticed the clear tip of the line had black flecks running through it and was wondering if that's normal for a clear tip? First time I've seen the flecks on any clear tip.
