    Disappointed - 6/24/2013

Returned these. The colour was not as pictures and wouldn't go with things I have. Not worth the trouble of taking 4 inches off the length. Why can't Orvis offer different lengths?

Sending these back. The colour is not as it appears on screen, and won't go with much. It is not worth the trouble taking 4" off the length. Don't know why Orvis can't offer different lengths when other firms do. One offers free custom hemming! - and they are less expensive for similar quality. Also, I have always thought the delivery charge was excessive. The latest idea is to charge £3.50 for taking to a shop. It is no less trouble than going to the post office, and such a light weight package won't cost that much!

    Cute 'n' Comfy Slacks - 5/7/2013

Love the cool light-weight linen - & machine washable, too! Very comfortable. The "aqua" is lovely, but has a more greenish hue, rather than a true, more blue aqua as the photo shows. Reason for not giving them 5 stars: they're too long! Orvis, I really wish you'd offer the Normal 30-inch length slacks!!

    comfortable - 8/18/2012

Very comfortable for casual wearing and the fabric is a nice weight and texture. The length was much too long but it was probably intended for the 4" heels. Adjustments were made. Nice pockets.

    Disappointing - 3/13/2012

I ordered because I liked the colour, which was good. But the fit was so bad they were returned immediately. Far too big, too wide and too long

    A sizing disaster - 6/8/2011
    By:

Sorry to say that the leg inseam lengths, which should have been 31 inches, were way out. One inseam was 32 inches and the other almost 33 inches. I will be returning the trousers very shortly. Also, the material was more see-through than I would have liked.

Like the "crinkled linen" but the pants are huge. Ordered small but the inseam is 33 inches, the waist, unstretched , is 33 inches & the whole thing is baggy. Returning. If this is your true S, then even the EXS would be way too big.

Linen

The original natural fabric

Linen fashions for women from OrvisThe oldest fiber known to man, linen is also the most natural and most environmentally friendly fiber in the world. From the blue-flowered linum (or common flax) plant that is native to temperate climates of the Northern Hemisphere, flax has been grown for thousands of years without any damage to the environment.

The Power of Flax

Flax is a completely renewable resource and every part of the plant is used, therefore eliminating any waste. The fibers are used for textiles or paper, the resulting linseed oil is sought after for oil paints and soap, flax seeds and flax seed oil are prized for their nutritional value.

Fortitude - In and Out of Soil

A hearty plant that thrives in many diverse environments, flax requires very little fertilizer or pesticides—many times less than cotton. The resulting linen fabric is also fully biodegradeable and can be totally recycled.

Linen Through the Ages

Linen is thought to have originated in ancient Mesopotamia. The ancient Egyptians wrapped their mummies in linen strips, taking advantage of the fabric’s inherent natural strength. The strongest of all vegetable fibers, linen is two-to-three times stronger than cotton. It is actually stronger when wet, which is why it washes so well and is so durable.

Built to Last

Linen becomes softer and more comfortable with age. It absorbs moisture far better than cotton and dries more quickly, making it ideal wear for humid summers and tropical climates. Highly breathable and anti-allergenic, linen has UV-protection properties as well. Linen holds dyes and prints with excellent color fastness, so it is available in every color and print imaginable.

Ancient History to Modern Day

Today, linen is widely used for clothing, bedding, upholstery fabrics and household tablecloths, napkins, and towels. Keeping our commitment to conservation efforts and sustainability is easy with this truly renewable natural fabric. Orvis offers a full range of men’s and women’s apparel in classic, breathable, and eco-friendly fabric.
