Great book and very similar to another book that I own from Orvis Wing-Shooting Handbook.

What is gunfit? Why should you care? How is it done? These are the questions that this book addresses by carefully explaining how everything your grand-dad taught you about shooting shotguns was probably dead wrong. In short, horrible habits and mediocre scores in the field are usually attributable to a badly fitting gun. If you're western European by ethnicity, 165 pounds and have 33" sleeves you might have been fit perfectly to the old shotgun your grandfather left you and therefore gunfit is an "off the rack consideration". However, if you do not fit the standard mold, bigger, smaller, female, different ancestry that gives you a rounder or more chiseled jaw line than is average, all of these things dramatically effect the union between you and the shotgun. The Orvis book of gunfitting attempts to explain how a proper fit is achieved (or determined) for each individual. Once you are properly fitted to your guns and your mount and swing are consistent and smooth, extremely positive results will occur for your shooting success. Take it from someone that didn't fit the mold for off-the-rack shotguns, gunfit makes the difference between expert shot and mediocre tyro. This is the orvis shooting book everyone must understand to truly improve their form.
An important book to understanding shooting -

This is an excellent book on understanding gunfit and shooting fundamentals. It goes somewhat beyond the old Orvis Wingshooting guide on gunfit. I have also read other books that address the topic of gunfit including Yardley's gunfitting book, but none are more practical than this one.
