Awesome Light Hiking Boot -

This low top shoe is awesome for light hiking applications. I use this primarily for local bass fishing around reservoirs and they do an awesome job. Excellent traction and very lightweight in addition to being very comfy! They are also nice and waterproof, so feel free to get 'em wet (at least, up to the ankle of course). For sizing, I'm a 9.5 and I had to go up to a size 10. Fits like a glove!

My four star rating is solely because of discrepancy in sizing of this particular shoe...I returned the first pair (11.5US) for a size 12 (which I have never before needed. (usually 11 or 11.5). Several similar Patagonia shoes ordered at 11.5 have been perfect. This size 12 is still a tad snug in length, but seems to be breaking in fine with no problems. The shoes are lightweight, very comfortable, breathe well, and provide great support with a relatively firm sole excellent for light hiking. The tread design is particularly good at picking up small stones, but provide excellent traction (a trade off, I suppose). Waterproofing is the real deal (for now); I immersed them half way up the instep with no leakage/seepage whatsoever. Removable foot pad is a distinct plus. Similar type shoes at a lesser cost simply don't hold up as well or nearly as long, so the Patagonia shoes are actually more cost effective. I do hope Patagonia retains the quality name brand manufacturers of the sole and waterproofing elements. The fact that this is my third purchase of this type of shoe from Patagonia pretty well sums up my testimony towards their product(s).
