By: Slice from IdahoThis coat is everything I expected. It fits well, is comfortable to wear and allows room for wearing a vest without restricting movement. The collar is soft to the skin. Repells snow and rain. Looks good enough for casual wear and is rugged enough for the field.

Heritage field coat - 12/25/2015
By: rhutchi1Coat is perfect for what I wanted. I am 6' 0" and 210 lbs. I first ordered an xl which was way to big. Exchanged for large which is perfect. Coat is not to bulky and easy to wear a sweater underneath. Only small complaint is zipper is a little hard to engage when inserting one side to other. I rubbed lead end with candle to lubricate.

Everyone asks where I got this coat because it just looks great on. Thank you Orvis for making such high quality items. Cant get enough of it! - 12/23/2015

Both of those coats were by nationally known manufacturer's and were very nice in their own right, but neither of them was as nice as my new Orvis. I can also report that I've already received compliments regarding my new Orvis coat while wearing it.
Size Chart
Orvis men's clothes are cut generously to accommodate an active country lifestyle. In addition, we build plenty of “wearing ease” in all our men's garments to ensure you will enjoy them for many years. We field-test all of them on associates, and we take into consideration how the clothing will be worn. For example, when we fit men's outerwear, we always size it with the appropriate layers beneath. That means you do not need to order a size up for a comfortable fit.

Classic Fit
- Field-tested and time-honored
- Generously cut for superb ease of movement and unbinding comfort
Trim Fit
- 1 ½” narrower through the hips
- 1” narrower through the thighs and down the legs
- A ½” shorter back rise allows a closer fit to the body
In all instances, hold tape firm and level, but not tight.
a. Head: Using a flexible/soft tape measure, start 1" above the ear. Follow around head staying 1" above the ear. This will give your most accurate reading. Then refer to the chart for size.
b. Neck Circumference: Wrap tape around to the base of your front neck and allow room for wearing comfort. OR measure the collar length of a favorite shirt.
c. Sleeve Length: From the center back of your neck with your arm slightly bent, follow the tape around to your wrist bone.
d. Chest: Wrap a tape measure evenly around the fullest part under your arms.
e. Waist: Wrap tape around your natural waistline, or where you actually wear your pants.
f. Seat/Hip: Standing with your feet together, measure around the fullest part of your hip (approx. 7-8" below the waist). Don’t forget to keep the tape level.
g. Inseam: Best taken from an existing pair of pants you like. Measure along the garment inseam from the crotch seam to the hem.
h. Glove Hand: Measure all the way around the flat part of your hand, excluding the thumb, and around the widest part at the knuckles. Use the chart above to convert this measurement in inches to your corresponding glove size.
