Great value for money -

Bought the rod as a gift but it ended in my use. Have been using it for 2 seasons now, first as a backup and eventually replacing my main-rod. Moderately fast action means a compromise in distance but casts great in wind. It's also quite accurate and even a 6wt can deliver dry's at close range. . It's a great rod for beginners to intermediate and will serve the more advanced really well. The reel and line with the combo is great value, although I tend to pair it with another line I prefer.
Returned because reel seat nut was frozen. -

I thought the Clearwater rod was less than I expected from Orvis. The fact that I was unable to move the frozen nut that seats the reel to the rod was the deciding factor in my decision to return the rod and reel. I will either order a higher quality rod or forgo the purchase of a new rod at this time.
Clearly Clearwater -
A last minute trip to Jackson Hole, WY required me to pick up a 9' 6WT fly rod for the trip. After a bit of research I chose the Orvis Clearwater rod. This is the first Orvis rod I have ever purchased and it will not be my last! This beautiful rod performs every bit as well as rods I own that cost be much more! The only regret is not getting an Orvis years ago!
Excellent flyrod -

I have an older 2wt Trident TLS. Looking forward to using the 6wt on the rivers in Colorado.

Purchased this rod and was immediately impressed with how light it felt in the hand. I took it to a local fishery to give it a cast and hooked into a 7lbs rainbow. The rod held up beautifully and I could feel everything from the fish trying its best to get off. I can't comment on how it coped with the wind though, as my casting is not particularly the best at the moment as I have only recently started fly fishing. I'm pretty sure that once I master casting, the rod will punch through the wind effortlessly.
Very nice product. The on line suport was also a great point ..
Orvis fly rod 6 wt. -
I have used Orvis products and found that they are superior products. Orvis has always backed their products with a replacement policy when needed. I have not had a chance to use my rod yet, but I am comfortable I will enjoy it as much as other Orvis products that I have purchased.
Smooth and Beautiful -
Wonderful, I'm Just getting into fly fishing for the first time and I ordered the Clearwater combo on a friends advice, without knowing a thing about casting I opened it and went straight to the yard in the middle of winter and was casting semi effective in no time, with a little help from my friend. When I ordered the combo I made a mistake on my shipping address when I entered it online and one quick call and they fixed it in seconds. Wonderful customer service. anxious for the spring.
