I have owned Gokey shoes and boots for years, and am always impressed by their comfort, durability, and being made in the USA.
I always read the reviews carefully before a purchase. Therefore, I bought a size 9 instead of my usual size 81/2. They fit great! I look forward to many years of comfortable wear.
My only question would be about sizing, and why Gokey for several models seem to struggle matching one's traditional fit?,Well-made, light duty boot, not designed for serious field work. I had to return the size 11, my normal size, and ordered an 1l.5, which fits.. The width would be a bit cramped for people with wide feet, but the 11.5 works for me with light- to medium-weight socks..,The materials and construction are first rate, but D- width, the widest available, was too narrow, so I was forced to return them.,I ordered the new Gokey Camp Boot with great enthusiasm and anticipation of its arrival. The pictures depictated just the new style I was looking for. Have owned 3 other Gokey shoes, boots and mocassins over the last 21 years and love their quality and lasting craftsmanship, but when I received my boots, I found the length to be too short. I wear a size 9D. The quality of the shoe was just what I expected from Gokey, worth the cost. Perplexed at this, I called the Orvis rep and she was eager to help and I ordered a 9.5, which I have never have worn before, but went with her suggestion. Well, the replacement pair came in yesterday. The length was great, but the width was so narrow, I could not tolerate wearing them for 15 minutes. Sadly and so disappointed, I am sending them back and ordered the Gokey Rambler boot. I have owned this style Gokey since 1990, but after many new soles, its time to retire them. I do hope I don't have the same issue when the Rambler's arrive. Do understand, I do and have recommended Gokey to friends and family for years!
My rating of 3 is because of the not-true-to size, at least in my view. The quality of the leather and overall boot I would rate a 5, no doubt!
