This vest is well made and fits like it was bespoked just for me. The high quality construction and materials allows it to be worn and used not just for standing about profiling like some other famous named clothing designer label. I highly recommend this like all other Orvis products quality is of the highest standards.
Unusual vest -

I like this vest a lot. Orvis overaall does a good job with odd vests — I have several. The shawl lapel and corduroy back makes this one unusual and more casual. I'm looking forward to trotting it out in, oh, mid-October, maybe. The only caveat is sizing. Orvis tends to cater to the well-nourished sportsman. I went with a large here (I am a 42R in suits and jackets) and it's a good fit, but this is not always the case with Orvis stuff. If you're not sure call or email Orvis; they are good at finding out exactly what the specs are.
no size fits -

The vest itself is very well made. I like the pattern and design. It also has a zippered inside pocket. It would have been a perfect vest to wear instead of a sweater on many occasions. However, the available sizes did not fit. I am 42 in the chest with a 35 inch waist. Exact measurements. The medium was quite snug. To the point that a large meal could conceivable pop a button. The large size could be comfortably buttoned however, the back panel bunched, was uncomfortable and looked bad. So, sadly, I returned both and am left bereft of vest. Dreams of strolling through the bookstore, the envy of men and women alike, dashed, like sun-twisted wrack on a barren wind swept coast. I leave you, wizened by the experience. Learn from the errors of an old man.
Well-made, Handsome -

The Beaconsfield Vest is nicely cut. The tattersal fabric makes it look nineteenth century, and the many pockets make me feel like the lord of the manor. The collar is nicely constructed and works well with or without a tie. As with all the Orvis products, I count myself very well satisfied.
Beautiful Addition to a Trad Wardrobe -
This vest, though made for a man, can fit a woman, too. I bought it as a cold weather layer as well as to enhance my American Traditional wardrobe. It's beautiful, well made, and will last forever if treated well enough. The style is timeless, so it is worth treating this garment as the find that it is. It's a good deal, too.

Excellent and stylish -

Waistcoats come in all sorts of styles and this one is different. The corduroy back and the roll collar make it wearable outside either over a thin pullover or shirt. Moreover it hides my braces (for those in the US "suspenders")

A well made item although the wool is a bit rough, however this takes nothing away from it's style
