Warm but small -

Irish setter has always meant quality to me and while the construction of these boots and warmth seems excellent there are some issues, which I'm disappointed that the manufacturer overlooked. The boot comes in a EE width only so thinking this might be to wide I ordered the boots knowing I might have to send then back. Same goes for length in that the only size available when I ordered was a 9 and I wear a 7 ½ or 8. When they arrived and I tried them on not only were the boots not too wide but somewhat tight, not only were they not to long but just right in length. If you want to wear a heavy pair of socks make sure you order at least one size larger. Also found that the cut of the gusseted upper and its zipper closure will just barely allow for tucking your pants inside the boot and still be able to zip them up. If you have a particularly large calf they are going to be difficult if not impossible close. These are very warm and seem well-constructed just wish they were sized to accommodate winter clothing and normal shoe sizes.
Great winter boots -

Great boots, may be a little tight for people with larger ankles to get on or off, but once on were comfortable and provide great warmth and traction. Normal shoe size was right on.

I ordered these boots for my husband who works outdoors sometimes climbing through snowdrifts. He needed a tall boot, waterproof and one that had good traction for ice. These boots looked like they would fit the bill. We were sadly disappointed when they arrived and he could not zip them up! He is average size and weight so that was not the issue. The fabric gusset attached to the zipper would not tuck in properly. If you need to tuck in pants forget it because there is now room and they flat out won't zip. They are great looking well made looking. I hope the designers can take this idea back to the drawing board and figure out how to make this design work. I had to return these but we are still looking for a good boot.
