A Tall Tale -

This is as other reviewers said an unusually long length for a waistcoat but it certainly keeps out any draughts and looks smart yet relaxed. Fit is good generally and fabric quality is excellent but have not washed it yet.

I got this waistcoat in the blue colour especially to go casually with jeans and I think they will be excellent for this purpose. The 4 pockets are useful for carrying odds and ends on warmer days when it's not necessary to wear a jacket. The waistcoat is quite long with a "Large" stretching down almost to my hip ( I'm about 5 feet 11 inches tall) but this is OK for me. A good bargain buy for me at the reduced price in the Tent Sale but I'm not sure whether it would be worth the full price.
GREAT VEST -

GREAT FITTING VEST FOR BOTH INDOOR AND OUTDOOR EVENTS. GREAT FOR WALKS DURING THE COOL FALL DAYS.
Feels good, looks cool! -
The fabric is good weight and quality, the pockets solidly made, and trim well engineered. It washed well retaining its shape and size. Ideal for adding a layer of warmth without restricting the arms. And not a touch of the Grandad's old cardi look about it, this waistcoat looks cool!

Although I am very familiar with Orvis products, this has exceeeded my expectations by being excellent quality, very stylish and good value. Highly recommened.

yes - it is long for a traditional waistcoat but I find this an advantage. Sizing is large too. I am normally a size large but there is plenty of room in a medium. They are one of my favourite pieces of kit when I want a little extra warmth about the barn and workshop. Quite smart too in a rustic sort of way.
Concerns with this vest -
By: ILoveOrvis from Fort Mill, SC
The quality of the vest is exceptional, however the length of the vest does not stop at the waist. I am 6'1" tall and the vest is WAY too long and looks awkward when wearing. I have washed and dried the vest 3 times in hopes that it would shrink, but to no avail. Disappointing product for Orvis as I love Orvis products and have never had such an issue before.

Perfect Fit -

The review by "Thomas" helped me when he said it was a tad too long for him. This item is ideal for a tall person (I am 6 foot 5 inches) and the waistcoat fits really well. Of course for average sized people it may be too long. As with all Orvis products it is stylish, well made and at a good price. Next step is for me to travel to Montana to fully try it out!
Longer than it looks -
This vest is well made, as are all Orvis products that I have bought. Just be aware that this vest is much longer than it appears in the photo. I'm an average sized man, and the Large comes down past my hips. It's cut more like a long sweater than a vest. This may not be a problem for some people, but it just wasn't what I expected. I washed it, hoping that it might draw up a little, so I can't return it. Maybe it would be helpful on items like this to show a photo of the garment on a model.
