I really like this skirt. I bought it in all three colors - something I rarely do. I like the cut, the fit and the fabric. The fabric is lightweight, so I wear the skirts in spring, summer, and fall. They are very nice classic skirts.

    Fit perfectly - 8/23/2013

This is probably the first online clothing purchase I've made that fits like a glove (even though it's a skirt!).

Comfortable and attractive skirt - 4/1/2013
    By: from TENNESSEE

The skirt is true to size. The pockets are wonderful !!! My phone does not fall out when I sit down. The product came with a warning to dry clean due to possible streaking if washed. I soaked it in salt water and then washed. It is still true to its color. HOWEVER, as with the last 3 denim skirts I have purchased from Orvis...the small hem turns up when it comes out of the dryer. It requires pressing or attaching large clips to the hem as it hangs for a few day.

    not as pictured - 7/10/2012

The skirt is considerably wider than show in the picture. It is not the slim skirt which is shown. I am returning it.

    Don't be fooled - 7/10/2012
    By: from Scottsdale, AZ

Don't be fooled by the photo. The actual skirt has a VERY WIDE Aline...almost 6 inchesI wider at thethe bottom. It is VERY FLIMSY material And tight through the bottom (flat butts fit good). NOT a good skirt for the price. I'm very disappointed because I have been looking for a Tencel skirt with a straighter line for awhile. Don't buy it!

This skirt was going to make a nice addition to my wardrobe except that I got nervous about how snug it was across my tummy. It was nice material and I always prefer skirts with pockets, but it seemed just a little tighter across the front than I felt comfortable with. The fit was fine everywhere else, it looked nice, and it will be a good skirt for someone else.

Tencel: natural fabric meets high-tech performance

Eco-friendly and biodegradable

Women's Tencel fashions at OrvisNo fabric available today could better display the ideals of Orvis than Tencel®. Tencel is made of all-natural wood pulp fibers from trees grown on highly regulated farms that focus on sustainability. Not only is the material eco-friendly, but the process by which the fibers are made into fabric is, too. And when the clothing reaches the end of its useful life, it is especially kind to the environment. In fact, it is 100% biodegradable.

Moisture and temperature controlled for warm weather

The main benefit of clothing made from this unique fabric is the moisture and temperature control it offers to the wearer. Because wood pulp is naturally designed to absorb moisture for the tree’s survival, the fibers that are made into cloth do the same. The fabric pulls moisture directly from the skin and releases it into the air. Synthetic materials such as polyester do not take in moisture at all, but leave a film on the skin’s surface. And while cotton absorbs moisture, Tencel is 1 ½ times as absorbent. While cotton and polyester can both leave moisture on the skin in humid weather, Tencel does not, ensuring that bacteria will never get a chance to form between the fabric and the skin. This makes Tencel a truly safe fabric for all skin types – even babies!

Durable and soft for maximum comfort

But how can a biodegradable and moisture-locking fabric not supplemented with synthetic fibers possibly withstand the trials of daily wear and tear? The secret lies in nanofibrils – microscopic hairs that branch off from the outermost fibers. In the fabricating process, the nanofibrils are manipulated to give an all-natural fabric unnatural strength. Tencel even shows such strength while wet.

What’s more, Tencel is an especially smooth fiber, and has softness comparable to cotton and silk. The nanofibrils can also be altered to create fabrics that feel like suede, silk, denim, or as though they had been treated for a peach-skin finish.

Furthermore, these versatile Tencel fibers blend well with other fibers such as wool and cotton to create textiles more durable, soft, and moisture controlling than man-made fibers. Tencel clothing provides maximum comfort – whether you’re on the go, at work, or enjoying the outdoors.

A "feel-good" stylish fabric that's good for the environment

The Orvis customer can feel good about wearing and buying Tencel products – not only because they are naturally moisture wicking and very soft, but also because of the integrity in the source and the eco-friendly manufacturing process.
