No worries with this outfit -

Finally, a fishing outfit that's a no-brainer if you want the best in function, appearance and one heck of a smooth drag. Got this setup as my Father's Day gift from my lovely wife and hugely ready-to-flyfish kids, and finally got to hook up some monster trout in one of Wyoming's little hideaway spots. One of those places where you're forewarned not to use anything smaller than 3x tippet, and with good reason. The first thing I noticed was that this rod helped me throw heavy weighted and articulated streamers like they were spit wads in junior high, even when tied up as a dropper rig with two in tandem. But the sweetest moment of all was when I got to hear the drag's friction plates go to work, spinning against the muscular runs of 5 pound plus trout. Truly turned my pontoon boat with me in it into an oversized strike indicator, bobbing up and down as the fish put some shoulder into it. The 6 wt. Helios rod combined with the Mirage III reel worked flawlessly, if not artistically, and several minutes later the priceless "what-the-&%$@-just-happened" look on the huge fish's face told the story. In all fairness, I did modify the outfit a bit in that I had bought a second spool and loaded it with some of Orvis' Depth Charge sinking tip line, which I took full advantage of in this lake, again well worth every penny. I love good rods, but alongside my other primo setups, all of which are mounted with the best reels, this top-of-the-line Orvis Helios/Mirage plays like a fine violin. The picture I'm attaching here was the 2nd monster I caught on this trip just yesterday, this one a tiger trout, and I think we both heard that violin music loud and clear. It was most definitely the Orvis Sonata!
